Where I Came From
I care deeply about the clients who come to me, whether they’re facing end-of-life decisions, family conflict, loss of driving privileges, the burdens of their criminal past, or protracted litigation, because I know when people reach out in times of difficulty, they are filled with emotions like fear, anger, and sadness. My goal is to help them make informed, stable decisions by first meeting their fear with compassion and clear information. I’ve spent over a decade working with families in transition, often facing overwhelming realities like illness or accidents, and I reassure them that their feelings are normal and it’s courageous to take action. I am committed to being present—answering calls, responding quickly—so they feel supported and safe enough to share both their struggles and their hopes. By listening, softening the space, and even using humor when appropriate, we uncover the family dynamics that guide their choices. Though end-of-life planning and remediating past mistakes can be daunting, the process, anchored in compassion and understanding, can be reassuring and even empowering.

Where I'm Going
I understand then that I’m not the right fit for every client or case, but for those who are open to growth—who can reflect on their role and seek renewal, freedom, and peace—you are my people. Together, we go beyond just legal outcomes; we reshape reality by breaking cycles of trauma, blame, and fear—especially in families with children. Helping people reclaim their ability to work, travel, and raise families, and giving them new perspectives to avoid future pitfalls, is a profound privilege that grows from my own challenges and positive role models. I carry these principles into all parts of my life, staying grounded through meditation, nature, and reflection, so I can serve others from a place of fullness. I am now scaling back on family law due to the growing stress of balancing work and my young children, though I remain dedicated to helping with license restoration and expungements—work that provides second chances without draining me. I don’t need to be everything to everyone; I just need to stay true, so who I am in practice reflects who I am at home and in my community. My practice emblem is a flying red-crowned crane—graceful, faithful, and free—just like the life I strive to lead.
What I've Done
I was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan in 2011 and to the U.S. Western District Court of Michigan in 2014. Since completing family law mediation training in 2016, I’ve conducted over 150 mediations and stay active in the Berrien County and Cass County Bar Associations, as well as the Michiana Estate Planning Council. I’m a member of the state bar sections on probate, family law, and alternative dispute resolution, and I hold a Family Law Certificate from ICLE, where I’ve presented at conferences. I recently earned the 2024 Volunteer of the Year award from Present Pillars, a nonprofit supporting new fathers. My past roles include serving on the State Bar’s Lawyers & Judges Assistance Committee, on the executive board of the Collaborative Practice Institute, and as a board member for the Coalition for a Useful Registry and the Heritage Museum & Cultural Center. I’ve also contributed articles on lawyer wellness and legal topics to the Michigan State Bar Journal, Sunset Coast Living, and Voyage Michigan.
What I Can Do For You

With over 15 years of legal experience, I guide families through life’s most crucial decisions—whether it’s creating a will, setting up trusts, or planning for incapacity. I also help people restore their driver’s licenses and expunge criminal records, offering second chances alongside a secure future for their families. My advocacy is shaped by my own background: raised by a father who was a solo practitioner, I saw firsthand the value of hard work and a commitment to helping others overcome challenges. This personal foundation informs every plan I craft, so you can trust that your estate, your future, and your second chances are handled with care, compassion, and a steady, personal commitment.
