No. After 15 years, I have decided to suspend my family law practice. I’m no longer

accepting clients for divorce, custody, parenting time, or child support. I am continuing

my practice as a family law mediator though.

I care about every person and family I work with. This comes from personal experience

and from years of professional experience working within the judicial system and seeing

how cruel and unfair it can feel at times. While the justice system is fraught with several

systemic problems, often outcomes are dictated by errors made as a result of lack of

understanding or high emotions from those who need help. One of my tenets is “treat

the fear with understanding and information.” I work hard to empower my clients through

education and companionship so that they can make their own decisions from a place

of confidence and security.

What I refer to remedial or restorative justice is a field that offers people a second

chance to show they are no longer defined by the mistakes of their path. We all make

stupid decisions at times, often when we are young and arrogant. These shouldn’t

imprison us for the rest of our lives. Helping others regain rights and privileges they lost

from bad decisions is one of the most rewarding parts of my job.
